OVERVIEW Crestron is seeking a Data Engineer to the Enterprise Applications teams and be a part of growing our data program. The Data Engineer will be a part of central IT supporting various business units in architecting, developing, and maintaining dataflows. The position will act as the primary administrator for Power BI for the company as well as other data applications and services. Crestron is in the beginning of our data journey, and this is an opportunity to be part of building the foundations. RESPONSIBILITIES Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements:
automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Participate in the technical definition of Crestron's data strategy. Bring technical expertise to the team in the areas of database engineering, data modeling, extract, transform and load (ETL) architecture, and data warehousing. Develop systems, policies, and procedures in consultation with partner units to provide long term, scalable solutions for Crestron. Work collaboratively with fellow members of the department to achieve goals. Administers Power BI services and supports the business unit data analysist community with data flow, data lineage, data quality and basic operations. Maintain Power BI gateways and scripts and connectors from data sources. Supports additional cloud data resources such as Azure Purview, Data Factory, Data Lake, etc. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead for the creation of datasets, ETL pipelines, and Microsoft Cloud data resources. Supports project work as the Data SME. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 4 years' experience in data integration or a data warehouse development role. 1
years working with Azure cloud data technologies including migration, integration, and design PowerShell scripting experience. 1
years' experience administering Power BI. Advanced SQL knowledge and SQL query authoring. Experience programing in Python a plus. Experience working with an SAP ECC environment is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analysis, Computer Science, or comparable degree and/or experience. Master's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analysis, Computer Science, or comparable degree a plus. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment Ability to communicate technical data concepts to non-technical business stakeholders. Strong organizational and documentation skills and the ability to self-organize.
