About the opportunity SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) is seeking a seasoned professional (Mining - Senior Environmental Scientist) to provide technical support to the growing Mining Business Line - working directly with the Business Development Resources (BDR) Mining Director and the mining team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with expanding high growth/high value environmental opportunities within the precious, base, industrial, energy fuels, rare earths, and aggregate markets. This position will report directly to the Mining Director of BDR. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to SWCA's management team nationwide and will provide input and guidance throughout the company to provide a true value-add impact on the organization's culture. The position can be based near any of our offices in the Western USA or be remote. It could be helpful if staff were located in Nevada, Utah, Arizona or Wyoming but this is not required. Provide upfront technical support from permitting from exploration to project development. Assist with developing, expanding, and capturing key, high growth/high value mining opportunity and sales. Coordinate with the Mining BDR Director for market expansion and support across the US. Mentor existing staff and identifying key hires to expand the Mining Team/Practice organized to serve clients, capture opportunities, drive market penetration and obligations. Manage and guide large/strategic permitting, owner's environmental, NEPA and closure/reclamation support projects. Bring client perspective to current services and key understanding of client needs/support to their value chain. Provide Subject Matter Expert technical and planning expertise and guidance to SWCA staff through the U.S. Expand presentation and speaking opportunities at industry events and maintain active memberships in key organizations including committee chairs, local chapter involvements and publication submissions. Manage projects and contribute to resource reports/deliverables as well as provide QA/QC of key mining project deliverables Experience and qualifications for success Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or related technical field A minimum of ten (10) years of mining experience within permitting and/or environmental of all phases of mine development, planning and permitting Have strong business development skills with industry connections within high growth areas. Availability to travel throughout the U.S. Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills for database work and proficiency in MS Office Ability to supplement current services offered with working understanding of engineering, geohydrology, geochemistry, etc. Deliver projects within a management framework that enables the practice to thrive with respect to quality, safety, cost, administrative support, and policy compliance. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
