8 Quick Apply Full-time 7 hours ago Full Job Description The OSP Field Construction Manager (FCM) is responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing Tilson's self-perform operations local markets, for Micro Trenching, and both hard and soft surface restoration activities.
This position is field production performance driven; safety oriented with a focus on driving production while managing crew costs.
The FCM role leads a team of Tilson in-house Micro Trench crews to bring projects to completion within schedule, in-budget and within quality specifications.
The FCM position reports to the Tilson's Field Operations Manager of the local market and must excel at leading teams and thrive in an environment where the position is given freedom to lead while also being held accountable for results.

Motivate individuals and Team to create a positive and highly productive work environment Attend and lead daily safety meetings with Tilson's in-house micro-trench crews Review JSAs, safety scorecards, field safety reports, utility strikes for Tilson's in-house self-perform crews and implement corrective action Work closely with the Field Operation Manager to ensure overall construction process is meeting or exceeding Tilson's and our clients' standards and expectations Drive production, constructability and assist in tracking field scope changes Know, communicate and drive Tilson's process's, procedures, and values Interact with State, City and municipalities representatives onsite driving safety and quality improvement Understand project phase codes / cost codes to support proper costing to the project Manage, oversee, and direct Tilson's self-perform Micro-Trench crew operations in assigned markets to drive operational efficiencies, daily production requirements, cost controls, safety policy enforcement and work schedule deliverables Align and Coordinate with Tilson's Operations Group (OG) project managers in assigned markets to ensure proper and efficient execution of in-house drill crews work and compliance with specified schedule deadlines of the work Reconcile and validate self-perform Micro-Trenchers production data and other self-perform data entry tools (spreadsheets, etc.
) by Tilson's Team Leads, self-perform and others Pro-actively identify potential production impacting risk factors arising from adverse municipality policies and business practices, staffing and equipment deficiencies, weather conditions, materials shortages and other related circumstances and provide clear and concise communication of these issues to the Tilson OSP and OG leadership team, to address solution driven remedies and results Assist in the development and implementation of evaluating, tracking, and reporting for individual in-house micro-trench crew employees and specific crews related to job performance for the purpose of holding employees and crew leads accountable and assessing merit-based promotions Field Construction Manager must have a demonstrated working knowledge of telecommunications construction and must have a highly detailed understanding of micro-trenching operations including the process of micro-trenching, placing duct, placing cable, and direct bury main-line and drops.
Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground process
Qualifications:
4-year degree or equivalent related work experience Minimum of 7-10
years of experience and demonstrated success of managing large, complex infrastructure projects in multiple geographic locations simultaneously Micro-Trench and Telecom experience preferred Experience using Vista, Microsoft Office Suite, and Workday a plus but not required Strong problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organization, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop staff from within and ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences Self-motivated and action orientated with a strong results and deliverables focus Ability to work on multiple issues simultaneously and follow up on issues with minimal direction Effective verbal and written communicator Job Type:
