This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing Accounting and Financial Services practice.
Requirements:
At least three years of experience in US taxation, with preference given to those with a CPA or EA certification Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with various tax software Excellent organizational skills Experience with the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) is an asset
Responsibilities:
Ensure that all aspects of tax matters are up-to-date Prepare and review tax deliverables Collect information and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports Recommend and implement accounting policies and procedures to maintain accounting controls Coordinate activities and provide guidance to accounting clerical staff Analyze account information to reconcile financial discrepancies Verify documentation and request disbursements for payments Establish accounts, post transactions, and ensure compliance with legal requirements by maintaining records of financial transactions.
There will be an opportunity to work from home at times.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
