Graphic Design Specialist

SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Director of Communications, this position will be responsible for helping to develop and implement OV's brand strategy to enhance presence and brand awareness.
This position is also responsible for creating and overseeing in-house graphic design work.
The right candidate will effectively manage projects and collaborate with departments to fulfill graphic design needs in a timely and efficient manner.
This position should also be able to push the organization's branding forward with new ideas and design contributions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the Director of Communications and departments to understand project requirements and objectives.
Design visually compelling graphics, including but not limited to banners, infographics, brochures, flyers, labels, presentations, and other materials.
Utilize industry-standard software tools (Adobe Creative Suite:
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva) to create and edit graphics.
Maintain and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all design materials.
Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate fresh design ideas and techniques into projects.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work.
Provide creative input and suggestions during brainstorming sessions and project planning.
Collaborate with the Communications and Public Relations Department to ensure designs align with overall strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Requirements SKILLS REQUIRED Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
Working knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
Must be able to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
Creative written and design skills.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and analytical skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines as necessary.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Must understand and be able to identify target audience for designs.
Positive attitude, detail- and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
Must be able to travel between locations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:
2 years of graphic design experience, in-house or agency.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing or a related field Preferred:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
