Responsibilities:
The Banquet Stewarding Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Steward in managing staffing and kitchens, training and scheduling stewarding staff, conducting daily inspections of facilities to ensure conformance with health and fire code regulations, planning, directing and overseeing the maintenance of kitchen areas and kitchen equipment, both stationary and portable, maintaining inventory and supplies necessary to support stewarding staff, coordinating stewarding needs with catering chefs, and all other duties as determined by the Executive Steward or Director of Catering.
Qualifications Candidates must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and in a professional manner; 2nd Language a plus.
Position requires a minimum of 2 years prior stewarding management experience, preferably in a high-volume, luxury hotel/casino resort and the ability to work efficiently and within a team environment; prior experience working in a Union environment a plus.
Candidate must have knowledge of chemicals, personal protection equipment, sanitation guidelines, biohazard clean-up and life safety.
Must have the ability to manage all aspects of the stewarding operation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
