Description/Purpose of Position:
Responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling.
Works under direct supervision of a physician following established guidelines as required and within established scope of practice Qualifications Minimum QualificationsEducation:
MSN or equivalent degree necessary to obtain APN certification.
Experience:
Technical Skills Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet and database.
Ability to take and transcribe minutesLicense/Certification:
Certified as a Nurse Practitioner after examination by a National Certification body such as American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Valid Nevada license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and hold a Nevada certificate of recognition as an Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (APN).
Current ACLS, BLS and NIHSS certificates.
Initial Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) certification within 6 months and recertification every 2 years thereafterOther:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
