This person will play a vital role in facilitating the development and implementation of renewable energy projects in compliance with state and local regulations in Nevada.
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility will be to navigate the complex permitting process and ensure adherence to environmental, zoning, and land use requirements.
This position requires a strong understanding of renewable energy systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for an Energy Team while growing their own projects, clients, and team around them.
Conduct thorough reviews of renewable energy project proposals, assessing their compliance with state and local regulations, zoning codes, and environmental requirements.
Collaborate with renewable energy developers, engineers, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders to gather necessary documentation and information for permit applications Interpret and apply relevant state and local regulations, including renewable energy policies, building codes, land use zoning, and environmental impact assessments.
Coordinate with government agencies, utility companies, community organizations, and public stakeholders to address concerns, provide information, and obtain necessary approvals.
Advise project teams on permitting requirements and potential constraints during the planning, design, and construction phases of renewable energy projects.
Prepare and submit comprehensive permit applications, including supporting documents, environmental impact assessments, and technical reports.
Facilitate and attend meetings, public hearings, and community engagement sessions to present proposed renewable energy projects, address concerns, and gather feedback.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to permit applications, approvals, conditions, and compliance for renewable energy projects.
Collaborate with internal departments, such as engineering, environmental services, and legal, to ensure seamless coordination and compliance throughout the permitting process.
Stay updated on changes in renewable energy regulations, zoning codes, and environmental policies in Nevada and provide guidance to internal teams and clients accordingly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
A master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy permitting, environmental planning, or a related field, preferably in Nevada.
In-depth knowledge of renewable energy regulations, policies, and permitting processes in Nevada, including solar, wind, and other clean energy technologies.
Familiarity with relevant federal and state environmental regulations and impact assessment procedures.
Strong understanding of land use zoning, site assessment, and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex permitting issues and propose effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate productive discussions.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using GIS mapping tools, renewable energy software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
