FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGN TRAINEE ($50,000)

JOB SUMMARYPlan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings and prepare calculations for construction projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust have 1-2 years experience in drafting programs, i.
e.
Auto CAD.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the general public.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Learn and understand Fire Sprinkler Codes (NFPA 13) Learn and understand basic building layouts/basic fire protection layout, up to and including, sprinkler heads/piping/ceiling grid and walls.
Assist with and learn submittal packages/running copies of prints/writing fire protection letters/meeting with fire inspectors.
Assist with field surveys and understand basic building and fire codes.
Investigate and procure all data required to develop a design.
Prepare material lists to accompany diagrams.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
