DescriptionThe Senior Research Scientist participates in research study design, analysis and interpretation of results, with special emphasis on statistical and analytical plan development; data acquisition, preparation, and management; statistical analysis and interpretation of findings.
The Senior Research Scientist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Research Scientist collaborates with others to execute research studies to provide answers to relevant business and clinical questions.
The Senior Research Scientist participates in the preparation of study protocols and statistical analysis plans.
For all studies, regardless of data collection methods, the Senior Research Scientist is responsible for data management, development of analytical data files, and execution of study analyses based on study protocols.
For retrospective data analyses (e.
g.
healthcare administrative claims), the Senior Research Scientist is also responsible for data extraction from a database(s).
The Senior Research Scientist creates tabular and graphical displays of study data and analytical results to facilitate interpretations and the production of technical reports, internal presentations, peer reviewed publications and conference presentations.
The Senior Research Scientist is expected to work without specific direction and will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Decisions on complex issues regarding technical data considerations and statistical methods will be the responsibility of the Senior Research Scientist but collaboration with study team members and other peers is encouraged in order to produce the highest quality work possible.
Required Qualifications Master's Degree in relevant field (health services research, health economics) 5
years of research experience or healthcare data analytics experience Strong experience analyzing large datasets Strong communication skills both verbally or written Comfortable presenting to various audiences Experience partnering with individuals at all levels of the organization Experience using SAS for data management and statistical analysis Preferred Qualifications PhD in a relevant field of studyExperience with healthcare administrative claims data Additional Information Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$93,000 - $127,950 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
