Magical Forest General Laborer (Seasonal)
Category Maintenance/ Facilities Description SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Magical Forest Event Manager, the Magical Forest General Laborer is responsible for general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment.
Also for the general maintenance of the Magical Forest, installation and general repairs, installation and maintenance of displays and lighting.
There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours.

This is a seasonal position through the months of August 2023 - January 2024 utilized to support the Magical Forest.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements.
Operate industrial power equipment as well as electric and conventional hand tools.
Restock and replenish supplies as appropriate.
Perform general maintenance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanical systems and/or landscaping).
Responsible for preventive maintenance on the Magical Forest.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Assist with hanging decorations on buildings and within Magical Forest.
Provides customer service to patrons; direct patrons to rides, seats, or attractions.
Responsible for keeping property secured.
Reports any safety and/or security issue to Event Manager or Security Team.
Reports any damaged or broken items to Event Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Volunteers assigned to projects, rides or games for HallOVeen and the Magical Forest.
Position Requirements SKILLS REQUIRED Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
Ability to use hand tools competently and safely.
Must encompass professional demeanor and uphold confidentiality.
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Required:
One (1) to three (3) years verifiable work experience.
Preferred:
Current Driver's License Preferred:
Forklift and high lift certification a plus, must be able to obtain forklift and high lift certifications.
Preferred:
Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.

Must possess excellent customer service skills and social perceptiveness to respond in a calm, kind and professional manner to common inquiries, criticisms or complaints while working in a fast-paced and noisy environment.
Must have a positive and enthusiastic outlook and a commitment for excellence in work.
