If selected, you will be an integral member of a team designed to build and implement a holistic approach to address the unique physiological and psychological stressors pressed upon our high performance / high demand warfighters in an effort to maximize human performance potential, reduce injuries, and increase their longevity.
This valuable mission is accomplished by increasing the physical, nutritional, psychological, cognitive, social, and spiritual capacity of individual warfighters over their careers, decreasing the rate of physical injuries, physiological limitations, and psychological burdens from all causes and significantly increasing lethality, readiness, resilience, and retention for these high demand assets.
You will identify and implement tailored innovative solutions across the spectrum of human performance aimed at improving the short and long term performance and well-being of these diverse warfighters, increasing readiness and retention, and optimizing warfighter operational lethality and longevity.
Responsibilities:
Shall function across the spectrum of the Human Performance Optimization (HPO) program by providing and facilitating nutritional guidance for performance, basic dietary guidelines, effective regenerative dietary guidelines, and performance enhancement dietary guidelines.
You will perform the following services in support of this program.
Provide nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation that is guided by evidence-based peer-reviewed literature.
Advise the Government on issues pertinent to nutrition and performance nutrition to include direct liaison with Government Food Service leadership.
Provide individual and group counseling for guidance on performance nutrition.
Design and implement performance nutrition programs for Warfighters.
Develop nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance.
Collaborate with Government personnel for implementation of new protocols and guidelines.
Assist other regional assets.
Attend and participate in meetings.
Ensure that adequate educational materials and sports nutrition specific supplies are available.
Conduct HPO equipment and consumable supply inventories.
Provide requisitions to request HPO supplies needed to support HPO functions.
Ensure that equipment and facilities under the purview of the Performance Dietitian are in safe working condition and are properly utilized.
Ensure that records are updated as required.
Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the Staff.
Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions.
Commands will allow for attendance at the necessary conferences or courses to complete continuing education units required to maintain professional certifications.
Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and required.
Perform other tasks, within the scope of the PD position description.
Document care to be included in the health record as appropriate.
Collect and report all data as requested.
Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested.

Qualifications:
Possess a Master's level degree in an accredited Nutrition Science, exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline.
Certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
Specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Capable of meeting physical demands of training with a variety of Department of Defense occupations and professions.
Must be able to lift and manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable accumulated experience ( continuous and sustained experience preferred) as a Performance Dietitian with individual athletes and groups of athletes.
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association.
Selected candidates will be required to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance to be employed to support this program.
Hager will sponsor a selected candidate to undergo the required TOP SECRET investigation at no expense to the candidate.
Employment is dependent upon completing the investigation and receiving a TOP SECRET clearance.
