Maintenance Engineer I

$1,000 Retention Bonus! The Maintenance Engineer performs daily maintenance and upkeep of the property equipment, such as air conditioning units, kitchen equipment, electrical maintenance, guest room maintenance and exterior maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform maintenance on rooms.

Plumbing and electrical repairs and other construction processes.

Diagnose and adjust and/or replace guest room amenities such as televisions, air conditioning units, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures tile work, phone repairs and carpet repair.

Remove and replace air conditioning dust filters.

Work with power tools which contain sharp blades and/or high pressure components such as high pressure hoses and water pressure.

Use of handheld radios and/or personal protective equipment.

Renders personal assistance to patrons.

Moves furniture as needed.

Removal of major debris from construction or repair work.

Dry wall repair including removal and replacing wall material, framing and electrical.

Repair, maintenance or replacement of wall paper and/or wall paint.

Removal and instillation of doors, glass and wood.

Loads and empties trash receptacles from construction debris.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Replenishes salt in water softening unit.

Replaces light bulbs and electrical fixtures in any area of the hotel or casino.

Ensure all items in room are in working order including but not limited to the television, lights, air conditioning unit, telephone, alarm clock, drapes and curtains and the luggage rack.

Preventative maintenance on all types of equipment
Repair HVAC systems; and refrigeration equipment and/or possess any other specialty skill related to the maintenance area.

Familiar with pneumatic control systems, electric and electronic controls
Test and balance A/R supplies related to HVAC equipment
Respond to guest calls; to emergencies; perform documentation
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Maintain neat and friendly appearance at all times inclusive of all job areas, using cover clothing when needed to maintain clean appearance.

Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEConstruction, maintenance or technical background preferred but not required.
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines required.
Lock-out-tag-out, Blood Borne Pathogens and other safety training is required.
These classes are provided by Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino and attendance is mandatory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSOSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSMust be able to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
MACHINERY USEDHammer, skill saw, screwdriver, sander, wrench, finishing chemicals, epoxy materials, paint, paint brushes, shop-vac and other materials related to the construction and maintenance field.
