General Accountant - Corporate (Las Vegas)

Summary:
Depending on the open role, tasks by area can include:
Gaming audit, non-gaming audit, lease accounting, gaming tax, transactional tax, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Capital Assets, Accounts Payable, etc.
Responsible for certain aspects of accounting, including Balance Sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, Monthly/quarterly Analytics, month end close process, and other assigned tasks for CEBS (Caesars Entertainment Business Services).
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes to properly record and classify financial transactions for CEBS.
Prepares Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations and analysis.
Prepares month end journal entries and tax returns (if applicable).
Develop and maintain excellent relationship with audit teams, operations, property management, patrons, and both internal and external auditors.
Identify changes in the business environment and notify appropriate leaders such that subsequent changes to control frameworks, business narratives and flowcharts can be updated.
Ensure accurate reporting and demonstrate job owner ship for all items completed Assists senior accountants and/or supervisors/managers in any research of monthly journal entry and account reconciliation related questions.
Develop and implement best practices in CEBS.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent industry accounting experience preferred.
Hospitality and Gaming industry experience a plus.
Qualifications:
Must understand SOX and GAAP Must have intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.
).
Working knowledge of SDS, CMS, LMS a plus.
Must be organized and can handle daily deadlines as required.
Must be detail oriented, ability to manage time, as well as ability to multi-task Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skill and can work independently.
Must be a team player and ability to collaborate with others.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
