JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.SAir Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech IIJT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challengesJOB SUMMARY -ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES The Avionics & Electrical Engineer is responsible for hands-on engineering solutions to affect repair and modification of aircraft, to include support systems/sub-system integration, verification methods, sustainment modeling and simulation, and assist with coordination of T&E development projects for Department of Defense (DoD) manned and unmanned aircraftSome of the assigned duties include:
specialized avionics, electronic warfare, autonomous systems, tactical communication/datalink systems, and sustainment tasksThis position also advises and provides technical expertise to internal electronics of Line Repairable Units down to the component level, ensuring operationsThe ideal candidate will:
o Perform equally well independently or as part of a multi-disciplined team in a fast-paced, dynamic environmento Be responsible for mission avionics systems integration and performanceo Develop Engineering Orders (EO) for the incorporation of modifications to aircraft avionics and/or electrical systems/componentso Develop Engineering Repair Orders (ERO) for accomplishment of Avionics repairs/modificationso Be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating related technical documentationo Provides oversight and engineering expertise to maintenance repair team conducting repairs down to the aircraft component levelo Provide analysis and expertise during repair and/or modification effortso Perform suitability analysis of potential spare and replacement partso Evaluate and provide source qualification recommendationso Participate as a key member of airworthiness work groupso Perform other position-related duties and assignments as directedDESIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS o A Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with 8 years of military aircraft related experienceo The ideal candidate is a highly motivated engineer with experience integrating military aircraft avionics systemso Experience in evaluation of obsolete components for reverse engineering replacement or repairo Avionics Engineer Licenseo Knowledge of UAV aircraft avionics and systemso Knowledge of COMM, NAV, RADAR, Surveillance, Indication, CVR/DFDR, Power distribution, Avionics Software, and aircraft wiring standardso Expertise in at least one of the aforementioned areas:
COMM, NAV, RADAR, Surveillance, Power distribution, Avionics Software, and aircraft writing standardso Knowledge of and ability to understand OEM Wiring Diagrams and schematicso Proficiency in AutoCAD and MATLABo Current TS ClearanceREQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum 4 years of related engineering experience are required for this positionIn addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following
