Electronic Technician III

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
This position works both individually and as a member of a team to provide technical support on a variety of engineering assignments
Work requires practical application of electronic principles, ability to determine equipment malfunctions, and the skills to solve technical issues
Problem reporting and documentation of corrective actions is also required
Position requires work on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing and testing
Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
Responsiblities include, but are not limited to:
Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing
Operates and maintains electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems
Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition
Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays
Troubleshoots to the component level and makes needed repairs
Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes
Knowledge of Radar test techniques
Ability to interpret and analyze analog and digital signals
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory; or a military equivalent and a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience are required for this position
ISCET certification may be required
Comprehensive knowledge in general electronics and demonstrated expertise in electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems along with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment is necessary
Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power RF devices may be required
Successful candidates will have expert-level troubleshooting and soldering capabilities
The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
Must be a U.S
citizen

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors
Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet
Outdoor duties may be performed on gravel or shingled roof
Climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, indoors or outdoors, is required
Government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis
Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces
Ability to work in a field environment with some shift work, at remote locations with occasional overnight assignments
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
(anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance)
