Data Center Engineer - Corporate (Las Vegas)

Las Vegas, NV, United StatesJob DescriptionThe Data Center Engineer must have experience with DC implementations, power, cooling, management of day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and high availability, as well as knowledge of all aspects of setup for servers, network cabling, and cross connects.
Knowledge of audits and extensive labeling and documentation is also required.
Hours vary based on need and incidents.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Influence and provide guidance for Data Center co-locations.
Research and identify solutions that enhance, consolidate, organize, and create efficient utilization of rack space, cabling, power, and cooling in Data Centers.
Contribute to budget input with Manager.
Minimize resolution time for support incidents and problems.
Assist with preparing analysis and after-action review for incidents.
Design preventative maintenance strategies for infrastructure in Data Centers as assigned, including analysis for High Availability solutions working with server owners.
Implement security technologies to meet regulatory requirements and document audit information for MICS, SOX, PCI, and miscellaneous controls.
Implement policy for Caesars system security, standardization, and controls for Data Centers as directed by Cyber teams.
Responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) support of Data Center racks, power, cooling, high availability, cabling, and servers serviced by vendors and architects.
Audit and check work of others after installs.
(O&M) support of Data Centers, create tickets to co-location owners, manage Data Center entry process and procedures, crisis management, change management, and hands-on technical support, assist with hardware/software server support for vendors.
Experience with Data Center architecture/configuration/management.
Experience with Dell, IBM, Juniper, Microsoft server cabling, and rack management.
Experience with administration of co-location Data Center including advanced documentation skills.
Advanced skillset understanding of servers housed in data center racks.
Installation, configuration, and O&M support of monitoring solutions for Data Center.
Daily backup support to manage tape.
Send tapes offsite daily, manage offsite inventory, audit, scratch tape inventory.

years of experience in an IT environment.
Participate in on-call schedule and installation assistance as required.
Mentor server owners and vendors.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED A college degree or equivalent work experience.
Extensive experience and knowledge in solving complex problems, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance and propose solutions.
Require limited supervision and direction; drive results, and set priorities appropriately and independently.
Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to successfully manage the technical implementation of complex engineering projects.
Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and editorial abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Ability to work on a 24x7 on-call, weekday and weekend schedule.
Advanced experience in project management.
Technical understanding of IP networks and integrations with systems.
Able to travel up to 6 weeks out of the year as needed.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with install/deinstall of server equipment.
Must be able to type for extended periods of time.
Must be able to talk on the phone or web conference for extended periods of time.
Must be able to create advanced documentation for Data Centers and audits.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
