MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER with Security Clearance
Duties The primary purpose of this position - As an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Senior ART/Director for Mission Support at a tenant location, responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all activities and operations related to Mission Support.
DUTIES 1:
Plans, directs, organizes, and manages the Mission Support program including such areas as logistics planning and readiness, security forces, civil engineering, communications, services, and personnel.
Incumbent manages a limited number of support functions or does not have the full complement of base support services as these services are provided by the host activity.
2.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters.
3.
Represents the wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other group level commanders, representatives and senior staff at Numbered Air Force, HQ AFRC, and gaining MAJCOMs 4.
Accomplishes special staff studies and projects resulting from reorganizations, regulatory changes, new technology, mission changes, etc.
Identifies the need for studies, establishes goals and objectives, and accomplishes research.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - GS-13:
One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS- 12 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service.
Examples of creditable specialized experience include planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the Mission Support Group to include but not limited to logistics planning and readiness, communications, civil engineering, personnel, security forces and services.

) Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be consider eligible.
One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level.
TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of a variety of logistics functions including but not limited to communications, civil engineering, mission support, logistics planning and readiness, supply, transportation, contracting services, civil engineering.

Knowledge of support mission requirements in all areas of base support.
3.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise a highly diverse staff and workforce through subordinate supervisors.
5.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of several organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
6.
Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in relations with labor groups, civic groups, unit organizations, etc.
7.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

1.
This is an ART position.
The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.
Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies.
The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
The incumbent may be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY.
2.
Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion as directed by HQ AFRC.
3.
This is a key management position in which the incumbent is required to formulate, determine or influence training policies of the unit to which assigned.
4.
The incumbent must possess demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities essential to successful accomplishment of the responsibilities inherent in a senior command position.
