The attorney is chiefly responsible for representing the organization in public and private sector arbitrations and assisting representatives, including stewards, business representatives, and officers, in all stages of grievance handling. Candidates must be computer literate, have strong written and verbal communication skills, strong investigatory and research skills, have the ability to relate to a wide variety of people in stressful situations, have the ability to understand employer operations, contractual language and policies, and work well under deadlines. This includes investigating grievances, preparing witnesses, exhibits and position papers, and generally developing cases for hearing.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
