Overview
It is the primary responsibility of the Server to take and serve food and beverage orders to guests, and also promote good guest relations. Secondary responsibilities include maintaining all steps of service with guests during their experience and assisting the rest of the staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the FOH areas at all times. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by providing service that is consistent with the company's core service standards and the overall brand attributes.
Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in Freedom Beat.
Work cohesively with other employees to provide guests with a superior level of service and uncompromising guest experience.
Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, and garnishes for each drink.
Maintain familiarity with all performers / bands that will be playing in Freedom Beat to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Greet guests in a timely manner.
Actively take orders, give enticing suggestions, provide full and complete food, wine/beverage service, and continually monitor guests' overall experience.
Partner with co-workers to perform all necessary side work duties before, during and after the conclusion of service.
Maintain tables during service, ensuring that all non-essential and soiled items are removed from the table.
Transport dishes and glassware from tables to kitchen and bar as needed.
Exhibit proper knowledge, selling techniques and service delivery of all menu items, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the room management.
Itemize bills correctly and efficiently and secure payment for all guest transactions.
Adhere to all responsible alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state; request identification from guest ordering alcohol when legal age is questionable.
Anticipate guest needs when possible, and provide extra items, drinks, and condiments to the table.
Attend and actively participate in daily team updates and scheduled training sessions and retain knowledge covered therein.
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas in the restaurant to include side stations and tables.
Communicate with managers, co-workers and guests in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
Perform all other job related duties as requested.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
Required:
At least 2 years of experience in a restaurant or similar environment.
Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
A highly motivated and energetic personality.
Excellent knowledge of spirits, wines and beers.
Excellent money-handling skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Worked varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use a Point-Of-Sales computer system.
Basic computer skills.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
At least 2 years of experience in a restaurant or similar environment.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
