Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.
Anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
Work as a team, assisting with all guests' and employees' needs and inquiries.
Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assigning seating where necessary.
Greet in a positive, welcoming manner as they arrive.
Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extending congeniality in accordance to department guidelines.
Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known and encouraging them to return.
Maintain general tidiness of podium area where necessary.
Answer telephone and direct calls where necessary.
Shut down podium and forward phones to voice-loop at end of shift.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service. Procedures/ standards.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff following departmental procedures.
Guide the Servers and Bus persons in table set-up needs to ensure optimum service to guests.
Communicate V.I.P. arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow up
Complete closing duties as assigned.
Performs all other job related duties as requested.
Required:
At least 2 years of hosting experience in a similar dining environment.
At least 1 year of guest service experience.
Working knowledge of computers and reservations systems.
Working knowledge of health, sanitation and safety procedures.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a similar resort setting.
