It is the primary responsibility of the Cocktail Server to expedite guests drink order and to provide beverage and bussing service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.
Greet guests and take their beverage orders.
Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available on the casino floor.
Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
Complete opening side duties fold/stack cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
Communicate orders into system through Bartender ensuring transmission is verified.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Required:
At least 6 months experience as a Cocktail and/or Food Server in a similar environment.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
A highly motivated and energetic personality.
Has ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
Excellent customer service skills.
Able to lead and mentor a team.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
