Dietitian - Whole Health Program Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Establishes organizational structure and guidelines and assumes responsibility for program planning and staff development across a variety of clinical settings for implementation of all WHP activities across the healthcare system Establishes program monitors and outcomes as well as other local data source measurements required for the clinical performance and other outcome assessment or best practice guidelines, using a data driven quality assurance process in order to meet VASNHS and WHP goals Provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to ensure that all diverse activities of whole health across the healthcare system are closely coordinated in order to achieve an effective integration of the key elements of WHP activities Coordinates policies and procedures to assure whole health best practices and evidence-based guidelines related to a variety of complementary and integrative health approaches, including but not limited to acupuncture, yoga, meditation, tai chi, Qi gong, Clinical Hypnosis, non-pharmacological treatment of pain, mindfulness, and proactive nutritional choices are carried out throughout the healthcare system Assures that all program policies and procedures are in compliance with VHA regulations, central office directives, VISN guidelines, medical center policy, union master agreement, professional guidelines and all accrediting and regulatory agencies Monitors and establishes procedures to contribute to the improvement of whole health outcomes for primary care patients Assumes responsibility for developing and implementing procedures so that the minimum structural and process requirements stipulated by VACO for the WHP program are satisfied Maintains contact with VISN and establish relationships with external local and national community service organizations supportive of VISN, medical center, and PACT initiatives Support implementation and coordination of health facilitation HF groups Support implementation and coordination of one on one health coaching HC Assisting in development of new targeted self management group offerings (eg anti-inflammatory nutrition courses, spirit and soul courses, personal development courses, and mindfulness/stress reduction courses). This will involve administrative support and identifying subject matter expert's, scheduling rooms, and patience for group self management sessions, assisting and setting up equipment for group session, and clerical responsibilities related to tracking expenses related to conducting of each group Conduct personal needs assessment related to trading needs of multidisciplinary professional and non-professional staff for the implementation of WHP activities Overseas development of WHP messages and develops training support materials for staff educational needs. Ensures that newly hired staff are trained and oriented on the WHP, and key activities. Serves as a content expert for complementary and integrative health initiatives. Tracks, monitors, and evaluates WHP professional staff competence in areas related to whole health and complementary an integrative health approaches to care. Serves as a consultant to multi discipline PACT teams consisting of physicians, psychologist, nurses, dietitians, and social workers in evaluating health promotion and disease prevention activities to veterans. Advises facility and primary care leader ship on clinical and administrative issues related to health promotion and disease prevention, including clinical preventative services. Serves as primary facility point of contact for WHP campaigns and events, ensuring local implementation and participation. Serves as primary facility point of contact for dissemination of the WHP information as well as evidence based complimentary approaches. Works closely with veteran experience service chief, coordinators of MOVE, My HealthEVet, canteen management and employees wellness. Integrates newly developed program activities with existing activities of other services in the medical center, including nutrition and food service, clinical nutrition service, canteen and mental health services. Conducts personnel needs assessments related to training needs of multidisciplinary professional and non-professional staff for implementation WHP activities. Overseas development of WHP messages and develops training support materials for staff educational needs. Ensures that newly hired staff are trained and oriented on WHP, and key activities. Serves as a content expert for complementary and integrative health initiatives. Work Schedule:

Education and Supervised Practice - (1) The individual must have earned a bachelor's degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent and fulfilled each of the following criteria:
Completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Completed an ACEND accredited or approved supervised practice program. Time spent in a dietetic internship or supervised practice program does not qualify as creditable experience. Registration - All applicants must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) the credentialing branch of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics formerly known as the American Dietetic Association (ADA). May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations:
Completion of 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate the following KSAs. Demonstrated skill in making decisions on problems presented by subordinate supervisors, team leaders, or other personnel. Skill and ability to effectively communicate and advise senior management officials. Knowledge required to serve as a recognized expert on the theories and practices of clinical nutrition and/or food service systems management to provide authoritative advice and coordination of nutrition care programs and resolve complex, controversial, or precedent-setting matters. Ability to translate management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations. Ability to assess qualifications, abilities and continuing education needs of staff and determine appropriate resources to meet those needs. Ability to manage/supervise, i.e., plan, organize, delegate, direct, control, review activities of the program and coordinate with multidisciplinary team members and subordinates. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
