About the model The Mazda RX-7 Touring is a luxury trim available for the RX-7 FD Generation during 1993 and 1994.
Like the rest of the FD range, the Touring version was powered by Mazda's 1.
3L 13B rotary twin-turbo engine capable of 255hp, driving power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional (and far less common) automatic transmission.
The RX-7 Touring was equipped with a sunroof, front fog lights, rear wiper and leather interior.
Yet the most distinctive feature (and to some controversy) was the inclusion of a Bose subwoofer system, which occupied a great deal of space in the rear.
Touring examples were often modified by dealers (or by the aftermarket) to feature additional details from the RX-7 R1/R2 variant such as the front and/or rear spoilers.
The Touring package was phased out starting in 94' and completely for 95' with the similar, but poorly named, Popular Equipment Group package.
The JDM equivalent of the Touring package is the Touring X.
